What I was up against
This house was not perfect. It sits close to the freeway, and a buyer sees that on the map before they ever come to the door.
What I did
I designed the front yard myself, so the first impression was mine to set instead of something a buyer arrived at by accident.
Inside, custom staging — and a grand piano. No staging company will deliver one and no agent I know bothers to arrange it. Then I hired a pianist to play during the open house.
I wanted people to walk in and feel welcome. It made a big difference.
