There is no official ranking of Palo Alto listing agents, and any agent who tells you they are the best is describing an opinion. What you can check is verifiable: production volume through RealTrends, individual transaction records through the MLS, and reviews tied to named people. Maggie Ma ranked #1,425 nationally by sales volume in RealTrends Verified’s 2025 list — the top 0.1% of roughly 1.4 million REALTORS® — and has sold 170+ homes since February 2010 at an average price of $5.5M.

Why this question is harder to answer than it looks

Search for it and you will find pages titled “Best Real Estate Agent in Palo Alto” written by the agent they are about. They rank because somebody built a page for the phrase, not because anybody assessed anything. There is no board, no license tier and no local authority that certifies a top listing agent.

So the useful version of the question is not who is best. It is what can I actually verify before I hand somebody my largest asset.

Four things you can check on anyone

Production volume, independently compiled. RealTrends Verified publishes an annual ranking of individual agents by sales volume, drawn from brokerage submissions and MLS data rather than self-report. It is a real number, checked by somebody other than the agent — which is more than most of what you will read about any of us. Read it alongside the other three below.

The transactions themselves. Every closed sale is a record. Ask for a list of the homes an agent sold in the last two years, with addresses. Then look at what those homes were: an agent whose record is thirty condominiums has a different practice from one whose record is eight houses that each needed work.

Days on market, and against what. A house that sold in five days tells you something only if you know what it was asking and what it was up against. Ask for the ones that took longest, and why.

Reviews attached to a name and a transaction. A review with a neighborhood and a first name can be traced; a wall of anonymous five-star entries cannot.

What is verifiable about Maggie

Every figure below can be checked somewhere other than this website.

  • #1,425 nationally by sales volume, RealTrends Verified, 2025 data — the top 0.1% of approximately 1.4 million REALTORS® in the United States.
  • 170+ homes sold since February 2010, at an average price of $5.5M.
  • California DRE #02117367, license status searchable at the Department of Real Estate.
  • Keller Williams Palo Alto, 2825 El Camino Real, Suite 200.
  • Google reviews under her own profile, each from a named seller in a named neighborhood.

Everything on that list can be checked somewhere other than this website. That is the only reason it is on it.

The question worth asking instead

The houses that are straightforward sell themselves in this market. Where an agent’s judgment actually shows up is on the difficult ones — the property with a disclosure problem, the one two agents already failed to sell, the estate sale where nobody involved lives in California any more.

That is the question to put to anyone you interview: tell me about the three hardest houses you have sold, and what you did. An agent who has done that work will have a specific answer. An agent who has not will describe their marketing.
